I cannot believe fall term is over! This Sunday, December 11, 2011 will be the end of fall term piano recital. Everyone is sounding very polished! I am very excited to hear all of my students perform!

Important Dates and Information:

• Winter Term for private students begins Monday, January 2, 2012.

• Winter Term for my group classes at the Community Music Center will begin Thursday, January 12th.
• Winter Break Blues Camp at the Community Music Center runs Monday, 12/19 through Friday 12/23.  Beginning Blues 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.; Continuing Blues 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.  Bring a snack.  Jammin’ on the blues makes us hungry!
• I will have openings for anyone who would like extra private lessons between Monday, December 12th and Monday, January 2nd. My winter break private piano lesson special is $15 for 1/2 hour or $25 for a full hour! This would be a fantastic opportunity for group lesson students to get more one on one help, or for someone who is thinking about taking private lessons, to try a few out! Also, if you would just like a bit of help on a special piece you are preparing, or just want to come jam with me on the blues!
• Please confirm your private lesson slot for Winter term.

If you are a private student, and wish to get my full term discount, your tuition is due the first lesson of winter term.

I have 15 20-minute lessons open on Saturday between
10 am and 6 pm. I like to offer these free because I applaud
students that put in the extra effort. But since some of you asked, I will accept a small donation (ie $5 or food gift card). My college kids are struggling with paying bills, buying groceries and all of the stuff that goes along with being an adult!

5 p.m. – Beginners (Piano I, II and III)

6 p.m. – Intermediate (Piano IV and Performer)

7 p.m. – Advanced (Piano Lab and beyond)

Private students: Beginners are in the Pianotown Primer (Red Book)

Intermediate are in the Pianotown Blue Book.

Advanced are beyond the method books.

Recitals are fun, meant to be a celebration of the end of term where we share a favorite piece on the piano and eat goodies afterwards!

Dress is whatever you are comfortable wearing on stage.

Parents are encouraged to bring guests and treats to share!

Be about 20 minutes early to check in with Teacher Zita and find a place to sit.

Had my first ever “Cabaret” style piano recital last night at the music center. Was a blast! No programs, casual dress. I had students sing, play violin, play many different styles of music on the piano, including a blues jam and some original compositions! Was great fun. Hope to make this an annual event. I have awesome students!

Hi Students and Parents!

I am getting so organized it is scaring me! I am looking forward to this year. Lots of new ideas for my students!

If you would like to sign up for fall term private lessons, and are not on my schedule, please let me know. I still have some openings. I will be primarily teaching at my friend Tracey Edson’s studio off of N.E. Glisan and in student homes, since I am planning on moving soon.

I am also attempting to tighten up my financial policy.  This will benefit all of us!  It can save you money, help me with my upcoming move and keep my head clear for what I love – Teaching piano!

My rate for piano lessons is $20/half hour.

There are several payment methods you can choose from, but I would encourage you to consider paying at the beginning of the term for the entire 10 week term.  I am moving October 1st and this will help me immensely. However, if that is not an option for you, you can choose what works best.  In hardship cases, I will always slide your fee. My students have always been more important to me than my pocketbook!

Option 1:  Prepay for the entire 12 week term at the beginning of the term (Fall term begins Sept 6th.)

1 student:  $200

2 students: $400

Option 2:  Prepay for the month in advance. (Due on the first lesson of the month)

1 student:  $75

2 students:  $150

Option 3:  Pay as you go – $20 each student

I take cash, check or Paypal (If you wish to use Paypal, let me know and I will create an invoice template for you)

Wednesday, November 16 through Sunday November 27th:  NO LESSONS. I am going on a retreat 11/16 through 20th. The following week is Thanksgiving week.

December 19th through December 23rd:  Make up Lessons (If you or I miss one of our schedule lessons this term)

December 24th through January 1, 2012.  Winter Break

January 2, 2012:  Winter Term Begins. Tuition due this week.

Can’t believe it’s really coming to and end – did it ever begin?

This recital will be small and casual. Any students wishing to share a piece that is recital ready are welcome.

Well, I can’t believe it, but I am starting to schedule private piano students for fall term already…I haven’t even gotten used to the concept of summer yet!

My hours for fall term beginning 09/06 are:

Mon 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Tue 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Wed 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

I will be at the Community Music Center Thur, Fri and Sat.
